The three Sustainet publications "Sustainable Agriculture: A pathway out of poverty for the rural poor" are available for download here. The publications document good agricultural practices from our partners and their potential for scaling-up.


India publication

India publication includes 14 examples of successful sustainable agriculture approaches, plus how to realize the potential of sustainable agriculture in the areas of organic farming, land and water management, and tapping new products and new markets:

Adaptation of small scale farmers to climatic risks in India

The publication "Adaptation of small scale farmers to climatic risks in India" contains five case studies, which depict traditional adaptation practices of small scale farmers to climatic risks in five different states of India. Additionally, the authors make recommendations on the possible focus of future development projects in the study regions.


The Sustainet partner projects in Latin Amercia compiled descriptions of their projects with the help of the SLE-Self-Evaluation guidelines. The pulications can be downloaded here. Up to now, three publications are available for download (in spanish):

The Instituto de Desarrollo y Medio Ambiente (IDMA) sistematized the project on organic agriculture and answers many questions regarding organic agriculture and small-scale farming.
The Programa Integral para el Desarrollo del Café (Pidecafé) is dealing with market access and support of small-scale farmers, who produce and distribute their coffee organically.
The publication of Asociación Arariwa documents findings from their project on integrated pest management.

The 16-page brochure provides background information on the subject of hunger, describes the Sustainet concept and presents four partner projects in India, Tanzania and Bolivia as examples.

Here you can download the SLE Study Self-Assessing Good Practices and Scaling-up Strategies in Sustainable Agriculture.

With this evaluation framework the organisations involved in Sustainet in Africa, Latin America and Asia can evaluate the impacts of their best practices in the field of sustainable agriculture to date, and assess whether the Scaling-up strategies are successful.
